Job Description

12 Month Contract.

Job Spec_Cost Accountant CPT Harbour

Responsibility:

  • Alignment of SAP vs. Cost management system
  • Updating comparison reports for weekly engineering cost meetings
  • Providing Engineers with Weekly Cost updates
  • Attending and minuting weekly engineering cost meetings
  • Updating of vendor data sheets
  • Follow up on outstanding invoices, capturing of data for cash flow purposes
  • Tracking and reporting on project and contract cash flow vs. forecast
  • Updating and tracking of Potential Deviation Notice’s, Capital Funds Request’s, and their respective registers
  • Updating of project transfer register
  • Cost verification and tracking of project funds transfers
  • Updating eB system with relevant documentation (PDN’s, CFR’s, PDN and CFR Registers, Transfer’s and transfer registers)
  • Mathematical check of Interim and Final accounts
  • Tracking of Interim and Final Accounts
  • Scrutinize costs recorded for accuracy and identify re-allocations of costs
  • Monthly journals, allocations & accruals

 

Competency in Software:

Advanced knowledge of MS Office 2013: MS Excel,

Intermediate knowledge of MS Office 2013: MS Word, MS Power Point, MS Outlook

Have experience on any Accounting Software (Pastel, Sage, etc.)

 

Requirements:

  • A professional Financial / Cost Accounting qualification
  • 5 – 10 Years Financial / Cost accounting experience
  • Good knowledge and experience of IFRS, SAP (or similar ERP systems)
  • Being highly skilled with the Microsoft Office suite, especially MS Excel, MS Power Point, MS Word
  • and/or other planning tools would be advantageous.
  • Experience working in a high paced Project environment would be advantageous
  • Strong analytical ability, with attention to detail and deadline driven
  • Ability to work flexibly, independently and in a team as well as being able to collaborate with other team members
  • The ability to adapt to ever changing requirements and working well under pressure
  • Working Hours (non-negotiable):
  • Normal Working Hours: 7:00 – 15:00 - +/- 15 days normal working hours between projects.
  • Project Specific Working Hours: 7:00 – 19:00 including weekends and Public Holidays –
  • Project can range for 45days – 90days.
  • For the Project Working Hours a Fatigue Management Process is in place.
